I started researching my husband's family many years ago when we "inherited" all the photos, newspaper clippings, wedding invitations, etc. that his grandmother had kept. I didn't want to throw it all out because it was a lifetime of memories and keepsakes so I began to organize it on a genealogy database. Then I was "hooked"!

I accidentally stumbled onto my cousin's posting on a message board while I was searching for information on MY family and this thing just took on a life of it's own.

I volunteered to take photos for Find-a-Grave after I requested and received some for my postings. It was so exciting to see the stones that I thought it would be nice to reciprocate. I also think I have a "sixth sense" or the deceased just "call to me" because since I started taking photos, I've been to cemeteries that I've never been to and I just seem to be able to walk right up to the grave! I've done it almost every time!

If I have posted something incorrectly or if I have posted something you feel is inappropriate, please email me or leave a message and I will correct it.

I am not related to most of the postings for Mifflin County, PA so I will gladly transfer memorials to a family member, no matter how distant. PLEASE USE THE EDIT TAB AT THE MEMORIAL TO MAKE THE TRANSFER REQUEST. It's much easier that way and all the necessary information is there.

Any photos I post here are free to be used by anyone.

Find-a-Grave is a collaborative effort that requires cooperation and teamwork. If you don't like to do these things, I respectfully ask that you choose another hobby.

I do not respond to sarcasm, ridicule, shaming techniques, or anger. I will not respond to threats or intimidation. Any negative comments or harassment submitted will be forwarded to the site admins.

Regarding transfers: It is impossible for everyone to maintain their own family members because others are also related. Any requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis. I would also urge requesters to read the transfer guidelines if you disagree with me.

Please state reason for transfer requests. I usually transfer out-of-guidelines unless it's someone in my family.

I will post obituaries to my memorials as long as the proper citation is made to give the proper credit for the source. If family members want their information private, then they should consider not having it published in the local newspaper/website and funeral home website. There is no legal expectation to privacy when the information has been made public.

If you are seeking someone to maintain the memorials that you no longer are able or willing to maintain, please consider transferring them to my care. I attempt to process all suggested edits within 48 hours, and I will transfer all non-family memorials upon request. Thank you.
