I'm an historian. And love genealogy. Got into it when researching my Cyphert family that was in the cival war and the 3 that were at Gettysburg after a trip when I seen their names on the pa monument. I came to find out I have many more that were patriots, pioneers of the Pennsylvania frontier, and fought for freedom and independence.

Seifert/Cyphert

My 7th great grandfather Phillip Seifert 1730- 1789. He immigrated with his Wife and it's believed that his oldest son Phillip Jr. (my 6th) was born on the Speedwell that landed at Philadelphia on Sept. 25th 1749.

They Settled in Bern Twp. Berks county,Pa. a couple miles south of the town of Shartlesville and Philip was a farmer.His son Phillip Jr. served in the American revolution under Sgt Eisenbeis guarding British and Hession Prisoners . He and and his father are both listed as patriots by DAR and SAR.

Philip Jr and his wife Barbary Grett and their 7 children migrated to Westmoreland Co.Pa. after his father died. he was a subscriber to Sportsmans hall in 1799. which became St. Vincents.

Ater the death of Phillip Jr. in 1823. His widow and my 6th gg Barbary ann Grett(Crate)and there children migrated north into unchartered wilderness to form Crates pa. to clear the land once again. build log homes and farms and establish St. Nicholas of Tolentino Catholic Church.

Ringle

My 6th great grandfather was Ensign, Mathias Ringle 1742-1811 . He served under Gen. Washington as a master wagon builder and Blacksmith from 1776-1783 and was at Valley forge . at one point he had to eat partially decayed frozen mice to survive .After the war He and his family migrated to Westmoreland county pa. They settled on 400 acres,Built a Grand brick and stone home and founded the town of Madison. He was a prominent land owner and master Craftsman, Blacksmith and farmer in 1928. DAR Replaced his headstone In St James cemetery (old Yockey meeting house)in Bell twp Pa. to honor his service

Kuhn /Ruffner

My 8th great grandfather was John Kuhn. the builder of St. Pauls chapel at Goshehoppen. Today it is the Most Blessed Sacrament, in Bally,Pa. (One of the first Catholic missions in the Colonies)Jesuit Priest ,Father Theodore Schneider lived with him at Cedar creek, Mcgungie Twp. ( present day Allentown)and held mass at Johns home. His son Henry (My7th) his daughter ,Mary Otillia Kuhn Married Christian Ruffner (My 6th Great grandparents) they also migrated to Westmoreland co. and we're foundational figures in the formation of Sportsman's Hall.(the first Catholic parish in western Pa.) which is now St. Vincent in Latrobe. (it is the first and largest Benedictine Monestary in the United states) it exists today because of them. the Ruffners did the same as John , father Browers lived with them and held mass at there home Just like he did with Father Schneider. Christians father Simon and his brothers Simon and George adam served in the Pa frontier rangers and are also recognized by DAR and SAR.

My family consists of many early German pioneers. Seifert/Cyphert , Ringle ,Ruffner,Kuhn, Reinsel, Beck, Finefrock, Brumbaugh,Zerby, Crape, Boyer, Hartzell Shambach, Logue, Best, Dunkle, Powell, Schall ... I have verified 16 Revolutionary War patriots so far. I am extremely proud of my German heritage and the patriots and pioneers that i am decended from. I feel fortunate to be related to these resilient people of unwavering faith that led a incredibly tough life and I will do all I can to honor them till my last day. They have incredible stories of resilience, grit, perseverance, and survival that none of us can even fathom today. I feel it's my duty to honor them by keeping their stories known so they are not forgotten. if it wasn't for them none of us decendents would be here living the lives we are today. We are forever in debt to them.

If anyone is a direct family member of a memorial I manage. and would like a transfer. I will accommodate as long as it isn't one of my direct ancestors (which about 90 % are) and you MUST be willing to actually be a manager.

I work hard and do extensive research to add as much correct information as possible. my memorial pages are always a work in progress . Constantly searching for more. some have a lot of info , others not so much because it's just not available. but I keep searching. I feel this is my duty as a manager. To honor peoples lives who are otherwise just lost to time.
