I love cemeteries, especially old cemeteries. I love genealogy. I hope that the memorials that I have entered will help someone on their quest to discover their roots. A lot of my memorials are my relatives and people that I knew. If I entered one of your relatives, I will gladly transfer their memorial to you...Unless they're one of my relatives. I think everyone deserves flowers and/or tokens on their memorials. ◡̈

April 4, 2026: My youngest son, Matthew, was involved in a terrible work related accident where he had a degloving injury of his right hand. He had his first surgery on 4/4. Matthew was discharged from the hospital on the 11th after his second surgery on the 10th. He went to the doctor for the bandage removal yesterday which was very painful. The surgeon is worried about grafts on two of his fingers. On those two fingers, his tendons were exposed. He may need at least two more surgeries on those two fingers. If those grafts don't take, the surgeon mentioned a surgery called a pedicle flap. It's where they would stitch his hand into his abdomen for three weeks allowing the skin to attach to his hand. Of course this surgery is used to help save the fingers from amputation. Matthew has a long way to go in healing.
04/28/26 - Update on Matthew:
We found out today that Matthew will be having surgery next Tuesday, May 5th. It's a procedure called a pedicled groin flap. If you google it, you'll have better understanding of it. It's basically where they're going to stitch his hand in his abdomen for 3 weeks to allow the abdominal skin to attach itself to his hand and then they'll remove his hand. Matthew will be in the hospital for at least 3 days per surgery but there's a possibility of him being in the hospital for the entire 3 weeks. Matthew is severely depressed. Please keep praying for him. This mama really appreciates all those prayers.
05/05/26 Update on Matthew:
All those prayers are working overtime for Matthew! God is so good! Matthew did NOT have the abdominal hand flap. The surgeon thought he had healed a lot in the past week so he put a skin substitute on his hand. He'll have another graft surgery in about 4 weeks. Matthew is in recovery and isn't aware that his wishes came true. We will also get to go home today with physical therapy appointments for Wednesday and Friday. Again, THANK YOU!
5/22/26 Update on Matthew:
Matt's 4th surgery has been scheduled for June 12th. We hope that this will be his last surgery. He is so ready to get back to normal and be able to return to work. Thank y'all for praying for him.

Matthew's surgery went very well. The surgeon did grafts from Matthew's thigh. We won't see what it looks like until Monday. Matthew didn't get too anxious before his surgery and his pain hasn't been too bad. Those prayers have been working overtime. Thanks everyone for keeping Matthew in your prayers.

Matthew has a very important test today. A Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) for disability is a multi-hour physical and functional test that will measure Matt's ability to do work tasks, turning subjective pain into objective data used by insurance companies or the government. This is required for him to return to work. He sees the doctor Friday for possible release back to work. After about 4 months after his last surgery, he will have a laser surgery or Z-plasty which is a plastic surgery technique used to improve the look of scars, release tight skin, and change the direction of a wound. Then Matthew will have a "Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)" in workers' compensation is the point at which an injured worker's condition stabilizes and is unlikely to improve further with additional medical treatment. Reaching MMI does not mean you are fully healed; it simply marks the end of the active healing phase. Thanks everyone for the prayers.
