RE: DATA DIFFERENT FROM HEADSTONE - If you submit data that differs from what is on the memorial (alternate names, spellings, dates, et al.), please provide supporting documentation [many thanks to contributor FDP #46938330 for the verbiage].
Re: DUPLICATES - It's never my intent to create a duplicate on purpose. If you discover a duplicate I made, please click Edit, then click SUGGEST A CORRECTION to let me know and respond accordingly. Example: If I enter a memorial on June 4th for Paula JONES THEROUX (my mom), and another contributor creates his/her memorial for the same Paula THEROUX on June 5th, the one entered on June 5th is the dupe, not mine, regardless of how much info is or isn't on the memorial. [thanks to contributor T.V.F.T.H. #46496806 for the verbiage]. Also, you may submit a report of a duplicate to Find A Grave by clicking REPORT DUPLICATE button under the SUGGEST EDITS tab, then enter the 'duplicate' memorial's number, and suggest which memorial should be merged into the other.
Re: TRANSFERS - Memorials may be transferred for relatives with these close relationships:
- child
- spouse/partner
- sibling
- parent
- grandchild
- great-grandchild
- grandparent
- great-grandparent
- niece/nephew
- great-niece/nephew
- aunt/uncle
- great-aunt/uncle
- first cousin
This would include adoptive, step and in-law versions of these relationships.
Always explain your relationship in the request! Keep in mind that the memorial manager may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. You may also want to include your specific interest in the memorial.
If two members are related within these guidelines and both would like to manage the memorial, the member with the closer relationship should be given management.
Re: HYPHENATED and MULTIPLE NAMES - Multiple names in the last name field are now able to be searched individually. If entered as SMITH JONES, or SMITH-JONES, a search for just SMITH, or just JONES, will produce the memorial.

Re: MILITARY DESIGNATIONS: I will honor veterans' service and rank. Veterans who have served honorably in a time of war may bear the title of their highest grade held during that war.
