May 27, 2021:

I'm an 12th generation American - just plain American - no hyphenated nationality in front of "American"!! Through my mom's family lines, my direct ancestors have been in America since 1629, although Edward Winslow, Mayflower passenger, was my 10th great uncle. One of dad's family lines supposedly came on the Mayflower but definitely were in America by 1635.

I caught the genealogy "bug" over 25 years ago, but one of my sisters has been doing our family genealogy for over 45 years. It's addictive and thrilling when we find information.

My sister and I research our family lines, including on our father's side from the southern states: Linn, Galloway, Laster/Lassiter/Lasiter, James, Hysaw, Caldwell, Jeansonne/Johnson, Ritter, Edelmeier, Steen, Stelly, O'Rear, and Newman. Our direct Linn line has been in America since c1772, but my other family lines connected with the Linn's were in America as early as 1635. Most of these families came from Ireland and Scotland although research is showing that the Edelmeier, Ritter, Steen and Stelly lines came from Germany settling in Louisiana as early as 1718 and by the mid 1700's (Ritter's). The majority of my dad's lines were in the American Colonies by about 1650. Some researchers have connected his Lassiter line (various spellings of that surname) with the Mayflower (listed as Leister on the Mayflower).

On our mother's side from the northern and east coast states, we research the family lines of Beebe, Sides, Lincoln, Borden, Hickox, Upson, Starr, Winslow, Plumb, Warner, Sensabaugh, Clapp, Haskins, Williams, Curtis, Brigden, Train, McComb and more. Our mom's direct Beebe line has been in America since 1649, her Starr line came in 1634 and her Winslow line in 1629. With the exception of the Sensabaugh line, the rest of these families were in America in the early to mid 1600's. The majority of these lines are English with the exception of Sensabaugh which came from Germany and were in America by 1790 on the east coast.

Just send me a message asking for the transfer and please let me know your relationship to the person, their Findagrave memorial # AND your member ID #. I had to delete my email address because of issues so the only way to contact me is via findagrave message or the edit function on a memorial.

I think it is important to share genealogy information and am thankful to all those who have shared information with me which is why I am willing to share info with others. I try very hard to put a good description on my memorials so you can get to know the person rather than just a name.
