I have been interested in genealogy all my life it seems like. Having lost one parent as a baby and having no grandparents living, it seemed a way to get closer to my folks. I loved listening to the tales the older folks told to me when I was a child and wished I had written them down.
My kids thought it was normal to stop at graveyards as we traveled and would often point out ones we passed up. That was BC (before computers). What a difference they make. I do want to go and take pictures in my area, but the heat just want permit right now.
