I am a descendant of David Simms Porter born in Kentucky in 1815 and died in 1877 in Clay county Illinois. My brothers and I are trying to apply to the Sons of the American Revolution and would love to here from anyone who has descended from Nicholas Brent Porter, David Simms Porter's father. We have no concrete evidence, i.e. Birth certificates, Death certificates or Marriage certificates that prove the father son relationship. If anyone has any info that might help please let me know.
