My journey began about 1997 when my wonderful sister-in-law, LANA WILLIAMS HINTON #56228722, presented me with a notebook of Hinton Family information, which sparked my passion and changed my life's work.

Every family has a record keeper: the one who preserves stories and passes them down to future generations. God has assigned that task to me.

"Do not forget what your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your children's children." - Deuteronomy 4:9

As I was growing up, my grandmother, Lula Boyce Hinton, shared many family stories with me. Like many people, I set them aside for a while, until Lana's gift brought them back to mind.

Visiting cemeteries, taking photos, and posting them on this site is God's work. I do it for others as well as myself.

"The Lord orders the steps of a good man, and he delights in his way." – Psalm 37:23

This is hard work, voluntary work. We travel and walk many miles to take these pictures. The day may be sunny or cloudy, sometimes turning to excessive heat. We sometimes make the trip for several days to photograph the entire cemetery.

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." – Philippians 4:13

As a sensitive person, I can sometimes sense the presence of ancestors. One son and his children do too. In Mt Lebanon Cemetery (not far from the death place of Bonnie and Clyde), our three-year-old granddaughter ran to a headstone, hugging it and excitedly exclaimed, "My friend, my friend!" What did she see? Who did she have such affection for? The stone was that of my great aunt. I have many stories of things, or should I say people, they have seen!
