I enjoy road trips in search of the footprints of my ancestors, walking where they walked, looking out the windows on a time long past and finding where they finally found their rest. Through genealogical research, they begin to have a living history, instead of simply a name and dates. We learn of their struggles and triumphs.

The people we are memorializing deserve just as much respect and reverence today as they did when they were alive. Without them, there wouldn't be us. We don't own our memorials. We don't own the bios we write, because what is written is THEIR public life and experiences, which can be easily found by research. We don't own or have any claim to anything about their life.

I do what I can to expand the memorials in my care and try to be accurate, but I will still make mistakes. I will not make changes if I feel they are not necessary, such as a period (not everyone had an actual middle name) or the information isn't accurate, according to the records I find through a quick research.

PHOTO USE:

Feel free to save a copy and use my grave photos on your Ancestry tree, Family Search or any other genealogical site. I don't need to be credited. Please do not use them on other cemetery sites such Billion Graves, etc.

PHOTOS ADDED: birth, marriage and death records, obituaries pertaining strictly to the person are perfectly acceptable. PLEASE DON'T add computer colorized photos. They look really bad! PLEASE DON'T add photos of the spouse, other than in a family photo... they have their own Memorial.

MEMORIAL TRANSFERS:

Due to the abuse and pettiness I've received from some members, I will still transfer outside of the guidelines, but at my own discretion. No one "owns" the people we voluntarily create memorials for. I don't get paid or compensated for my time, effort or expenses and neither do you.

EDITS: USE THE EDIT BUTTON; it covers every aspect of a memorial. Due to abuse, I've turned off my messages. If you feel a need to explain or discuss anything on a memorial in my care, scroll past the "basic" information and use the "contact manager" button. Please don't send me edits for my "recently deceased"... I'm not finished with them and will get back to it on my own; I often will take days to complete them and I don't need any help thankyouverymuch but no thanks...it only adds to the grief I'm going through already.

Please leave a flower or token on the memorials you create or visit. It just may be the only flowers they receive.
