My primary focus has been my family, Civil War union veterans and their post war veterans organization, the Grand Army of the Republic. I am a public historian, documentary filmmaker and member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, though I do have family that served on both sides of the conflict. I travel a bit for my work, so I try to get into a historic cemetery everywhere I go and see if anything needs to be documented.

Primary locales of interest for family have been Kingston, NY; Providence, RI; Northern NJ; Bureau County, IL, Floyd County, VA... and more... McGuire, Maguire, Rush, Kane, Perkins, Long, Phillips. Trying to set up the next generation for success.

Civil War - Union Soldiers wherever I find them. Say the names! Lest we forget they fought to save the Union and free a people. Be sure to check out the SUVCW Graves Registration Database - suvcwdb.org. It is a valuable research tool and always updating with new entries.

If it seems that I have an inordinate amount of virtual cemeteries... I have one for each Rhode Island Post of the Grand Army of the Republic, and have a working list of Rhode Island SUVCW Camps.

I welcome questions, comments, suggestions, remarks. I try to get it right and not put in a grave or info unless I am sure. Records can sometimes vary on birth dates, military service, etc, so I use the best primary sources I am able to access whenever I can.

Dedicate this whole endeavor to Grandma Minnie, who got me started with a little blue notebook and a tiny photo that said "an Uncle" that she left behind for me to find 30 years after her passing.
