If you live in the same city that you are asking for someone to get a photo of a headstone you are looking for, you should be ashamed! I've seen several people on here do that and they are much younger than I am.

Bio.

Hi, I live on Maryland's Eastern Shore, the REAL DMV = DelMarVa = Delaware-Maryland-Virginia. DC is not part of the acronym for the real DMV. I love history and doing my genealogy. I am looking for these surnames on my mothers French Canadian side and more to come: St. Laurent, L'Italien, Lévesque, Thibeault, Thibault, Michaud, Francoeur, Carrier, Pelletier, etc.

On my father's side: Dodd, Skaggs, Kennedy, Mahan, Hunter, Blaker, White, Buchner, Morris, Young, Taylor, et. al.

--------------------------

DEAR ANCESTOR,

Your tombstone stands among the rest;

Neglected and alone.

The name and date are chiseled out

On polished, marbled stone.

It reaches out to all who care

It is too late to mourn.

You did not know that I exist

You died and I was born.

Yet each of us are cells of you

In flesh, in blood, in bone.

Our blood contracts and beats a pulse

Entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled

One hundred years ago

Spreads out among the ones you left

Who would have loved you so.

I wonder if you lived and loved,

I wonder if you knew

That someday I would find this spot,

And come to visit you.

Walter Butler Palmer

A LIMB HAS FALLEN

A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, Grieve not for me.

Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.

My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.

Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don't worry about falls I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we're together again.
