My Gratitude
A huge shoutout to all of the Find a Grave contributors who have spent myriad numbers of hours taking photos, creating memorials, placing flowers, uploading or adding pertinent and appropriate information to memorials, making suggested changes or at least considering them, responding to emails, messages, and transfer requests, doing all the research, walking hundreds of miles, and so much more! A great big thank you!
Note:
Any photo, document, comment, etc., on any of the memorials that I manage that reference or include any living individual, or that reference folks who's life status is unknown, or that contains social security numbers, was not posted by me. These were done prior to my taking over management and I have noted this on some of them. I am in the process of going through all memorials that I manage to remove living individuals, or references to those whose life status is unknown, trying to have removed any document that includes social security numbers. Please be patient.
If, in any of my postings or in my bio section, you find something that you feel goes against Find a Grave's policies or guidelines, please feel free to address them in a proper message to me - and please be specific and kind - and I will address those concerns. To begin with, I manage quite a few memorials that are my family and my direct relative lines, with the exception of some, so I will not transfer those, but please don't hesitate to reach out by leaving me a message on Find a Grave using "Suggest Edits" and "Contact Manager," with any questions, suggestions for additions or changes to memorials, comments, possible family connections, or transfer requests.
Edit suggestions: Please include your sources when suggesting any edits. 'Someone else's family tree,' 'a book I read,' 'found it on a website,' etc., are not sources. If the information is from an obituary give the paper's name and date and state where you found it. If I do not get to your suggestion right away I will get to it as soon as possible - I won't purposely ignore your suggestions. If I do not get to it within 21 days and it goes through automatically it is not with ill intent.
Transfers: I am willing to transfer outside of Find A Grave's guidelines under some circumstances, however I would like for you to state your reason for wanting to manage a memorial for whom you are not related. I thoroughly enjoy managing the memorials that I have and would like to know that they are going to someone who does as well.
Unproven relationships: I have a few memorials that I have acquired from others, where the relationships have not yet been proven so please ask questions. I may not transfer these memorials until I have proven that I am not a direct relative.

Please Post Photos
Feel free to post nice photos on the memorials that I manage but PLEASE DO NOT DO THE FOLLOWING:
Post photos that have living individuals in them if you do not have that living individual's permission.
Post photos that you did not take yourself or images that you did not create yourself.
Post images of obituaries that have the names of living individuals. I would rather not use up image space for images of obits. If you would like an obituary to be posted, please type it out and send it to me as an addition to the bio section and please include the name of the paper, date of obit, and where you found it.
Post images of Death Certificates that have Social Security numbers on them.
All of the above are violations of Find a Grave's photo policy among other things.
Also, although it is not stated in Find a Grave's photo policy, please be respectful and do not post "indecent" photos. We all know what that means - everyone should be fully clothed and fully covered.
Genealogy and a little bio
I have been doing my family history research for 30 years now and have several family line trees on Ancestry, as well as on my own family tree software, and some on FamilySearch. I occasionally do research for others outside my own family but mostly I do my own and I thoroughly enjoy it all. Several years ago I joined Find a Grave in hopes of finding family members but also to help out when and where I can, but I have been most active here in the last several months, and plan to stay active.
I originated on the West Coast and came to the East Coast 30 years ago. For my first Christmas here my mom bought me a computer and soon after began my odyssey into the unknown and fascinating world of family history research and genealogy. I take many breaks from it, including here on FindaGrave, but usually jump right back in like I never left.
One of my favorite research methods is searching the female lines with surnames and tracking them because most of the time it leads me to more information in the direct lines. I also love to spread out into collateral relationships and lines - cousins, aunts, uncles, and removed relationship present challenges and the rewards are all pretty exciting. My number one favorite type of research is newspaper research on Newspapers dot com, in conjunction with FindaGrave, Ancestry, and even social media. I think that's why I was given the option of having so many windows open at once on my computer - so I can do all of this at once. I sometimes throw in using my iPad and phone also, just to add to the excitement.
