Then the question of handing memorials over to ANY relative is easy.

THE CORRECT AND RESPONSIBLE ANSWER IS YES!!

We are doing this for the ones who have passed and their families. With that in mind it would be rude and disrespectful not give control of a memorial to a family member upon request.

I truly believe relatives belong with relatives if requested.

Any decent and respectful person will transfer to a relative if not related themselves.

That's the definition.

No specification on how or why they left the service, be it voluntarily or by death.

If they no longer serve they are Veterans, unless you consider them still in the service even after they have passed away while in active service.

Edits I can't confirm will be declined. I will then consider a memorial transfer.

Should the memorial come back to me, I will reset it to its pre-transfer status.

The reason being, I have had contradictory and reversal edits for memorials, quite often from the same contributor who sent the original edit.

If you merge a memorial with one I am managing, I will delete any changes that I can not verify, unless I am contacted directly to confirm the changes.

This is due to seeing merges used as a way to make changes without going through proper procedures.

If necessary I can delete the memorial and recreate it without the unconfirmed added info and connections.
