February 2025. I just turned 70.
My name is Syd Barringer. People call me Syd Barringer. From Coker, Ala.
Eighth generation Barringer in America, followed by two more, also digging up bones for Adams, Bost, Branan, Brogden, Brundage, Byars, Cress, Davis, Etheridge, Evans, Feagle, Findley, George, Greer, Hawkins, Killian, Murchison, Robertson, Samford, Snider, Swindle, Washington, Weaver and Wilder (for now).
I am not here to gather memorials but to connect families. I adopt many "orphaned" Barringer memorials and do my best to find family. A professional genealogist told me that only about 1/3 of existing records are online, so many times there "just AIN'T nothin' ". I try to make the memorials I manage/maintain reliable as source material. That is my goal. When I found my great-grandfather Barringer's memorial, his 4th wife was listed as his child. She WAS 28 years younger than he, so one can see how that could happen.
