What is a Memorial?

A Find a Grave memorial is a webpage created to help record and present final disposition information for an individual person.

A MEMORIAL

can be added by

Find a Grave member

with information that might come from a cemetery record, a headstone, an obituary or other record.

The person who creates the memorial manages it.

WHAT CAN THE MANAGER DO TO A MEMORIAL THEYMANAGE?

They can update it directly and are the gatekeeper for updates other members send for the memorial.

They can also transfer management of the memorial to someone in the person's family or another Find a Grave member.

Please follow Find-A-Grave's instructions & Be sure to include your relationship to the person when requesting a transfer.

I normally follow the "guidelines for requesting a transfer."

Do Not USE MY Photos -- & add to any memorial that either You or some one else may have added -- & yes WE hAVE FOUND -THOSE WHO HAVE--WITHOUT MY PERMISISON TO RE-ADD.-

ADDING MULTIPLE NAMES

- additional surnames for multiple marriages can be confusing.

if the Lady is linked to All spouses, then all names are NOT NECESSARY ( guidelines say add what is on STONE)

I will list the married surname at the time of death.

AND in the BIO I try to List all NAMES-- maiden and Married --IF KNOWN

Same goes for a discrepancy of dates from a death cert, ssi index & stone--

STONE DATE STANDS--as per Guidelines ,, will add to Bio.

Send a note as to suggestion to change, please explain.

We all have different opinions and we all don't agree on how to add or what not to add.

We don't use Family Search--- so sending me info to hunt is a waste of your time and my time.

We have an account thru Ancestry, and have had since abt 2002. We also use census records, Obits, cemetery book records, ect. marriages. ect.
