Hello to everyone. I'd like to help others to discover their ancestors and aide in building my own tree as well. If anyone is needing a bit of information to help their research, I have found a man doing this research for over 25 years named Tom DeNardo ID 767 with a bio page of many useful tips to take the research on FAG to a higher level. He has helped me find things that never surfaced until he took initiative to help. Plus he is thorough in his research reading deeper into other aspects we often overlook.

I starter this adventure when the CV lockdowns gave me time and led me to do research on my family when my mom passed. I have some of the documents and photos saved by her parents.

Our Landry Family is so vast that it's taken time to find all their memorials. My father is a Landry, my grandparents were Cajun descendants (Acadians). Emile had married Odalie Dugas and he told me they were all from Paincourtville and our ancestors come from Nova Scotia during the exile.

Thus far I have been researching daily to be certain I have the correct one with so many being named or going by Joseph and John Baptiste or Marie and Mary! Everyone looking at the Landry family must agree it is a bit tangled with the many other similar names. DNA has been helping me get better at the actual connections to many of my cousins! I do rely on the Archdiocese Records, Death Certificates I will order, other sources from ancestry. c o m and the US Census. But still have a few things to work through to make all their information correct as possible. I enjoy studying their lives and so many discoveries have been made since working with the Find a Grave and Ancestry website. Having done the DNA testing etc. it has helped for me to make these memorials into their legacy.

It was interesting to find that my great great grandparents on my mom and dad side are from both either Assumption Parish, Pierre Part or West Baton Rouge. It is a world of French descendants that emerged from a New France territory through resilient immigrants back then after the war with England and they lost.

However, on my Maternal side is my grandfather Cannon who met a French woman (Picou) and married her. There are documents and photographs handed down by my grandfather John L. Cannon Jr. His family was mainly from Charlottesville, VA.

He was in WWII in the US Coast Guard and then the Korean War in the USAF as a Recon Tech Squad photographer and Sargent for that War. He was in Okinawa for a special mission and was missing for a period from his family. I have a picture of his father John Lewis Cannon Sr. in his WWI uniform about the time he was married to his first wife Maude Ethyl Branham Cannon. They were mainly from The City of Charlottesville, Virginia. Albemarle County and Rappahannock County.

But the Draft of military duty has taken some family members out of their hometowns and moved them around the country.

It would be great to hear from anyone connected and try to reach out to them.

I am from Louisiana all my life, right out of New Orleans on the westbank of the Mississippi River. Now I am in Georgia that my daughter and grandchildren moved there. I am also researching Ledet, Picou and Todaro family.

The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and places like Elks Tomb Mass grave of 600 Confederate soldiers i find interesting. I also find the military was entirely too vague on the handling of soldier listings and containing not much information.

I am on the Ancestry site for connections in my tree. As I find information on others not related I try to connect them on FindAGrave. I do research nearly every day in my spare time
