e cemetery was first in use in 1870. The condition is deteriorated. There are many childrens graves which have the childs crib on the grave. The belief of mothers not to let a child sleep in the crib in which another child had died.

Normanton Cemetery is located in the Gulf Savannah region of Queensland, Town of Normanton, by the Norman River. Proclaimed a town in 1868, Normanton was the port that served the Croydon goldfields and a terminal for the Croydon Railway (now The Gulflander route) The area is mostly fishing and cattle.
