As of August of 2025, I am updating all my memorials, not by name but by cemetery. With the sheer number of memorials that I have, this will take me approximately one year. Please bear with me as this covers over 17 years of creating memorials. Updating includes correcting mistakes made in POB, POD, DOB, and DOD, linking missing spouses, linking parents where possible, and linking children. It may also mean correcting burial locations. We are now in August of 2026 and have completed alphabetical cemeteries through to those that begin with the letter "O". I have temporarily put the P-Z cemeteries on hold to update memorials in two of the cemeteries in Claremont, NH. Time permitting before travelling, I will commence the "P" cemeteries and onward afterwards.

LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP. I JUST SPENT 20 MINUTES OF MY TIME THAT COULD HAVE BEEN USED ON OTHER MEMORIALS BECAUSE SOMEONE APPARENTLY COULDN'T READ. IF THE MEMORIAL IS MARKED AS A "CENOTAPH", DO NOT MERGE IT INTO THE ACTUAL BURIAL. I ALWAYS BEGAN EACH CENOTAPH MEMORIAL WITH "THIS IS A CENOTAPH--DO NOT MERGE OR LINK TO THIS MEMORIAL" AND THEN ADD THE HYPERLINK TO THE ACTUAL BURIAL.

I've been receiving some demanding messages. Please include proof with peculiar edits (proof is not what you typed on your own webpage). Also, Family Search is not a reliable source unless an actual document is attached.

Also, to all the dedicated photographers who work tirelessly taking photos in countless cemeteries, of which it is greatly appreciated, do the memorial creator the courtesy of editing the memorial with the info on the military marker and mark the grave as "veteran".

I'm discovering a higher-than-normal amount of incorrect information in the edits that I research, when time permits (sometimes it takes hours to verify one edit). "As the manager, you have an important responsibility to ensure accurate information for the memorial... consider explaining the sources and differing information in the biography field." Double-check your edits for accuracy with official government documents – not with family heritage search websites. DO NOT edit indisputable correct information from multiple official documents with something absurd that you've found on a free website from a wannabe genealogist. Let's stick to facts. False information is copied over and over and may eventually become "facts." I strive to be accurate with the information on a memorial. Likewise, DO NOT delete correct bio information which I spent time and subscription payments to research merely because you don't like census data, list formats. 

PLEASE DO NOT ADD OBITUARIES, BIRTH, DEATH OR MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES to the Photo section of my FAG memorials. (Newspaper obituaries, death certificates and other scanned documentation are now allowed). However, if the information is in the bio section, PLEASE send me an edit with the SOURCE. If one is found on one of my memorials, I will message you and politely ask you to remove it. It is duplicative.

It's highly likely that I will deny your edit of YOUR preferred memorial bio, formatting and/or page style if it alters MY preferred memorial bio, formatting and/or page style. I do not use periods after middle initials or Mr or Mrs as a prefix. In addition, I utilize all military prefixes to honor those who served our great country. I will highly likely deny your edit if you send me the "military" description of when to utilize a military prefix.

I also DO NOT utilize more than one last name on a woman's memorial unless the obituary is so written. Contrary to what you believe, FindAGrave search will NOT locate a memorial if you utilize the last name only and not two or more last names. I have spent time creating a memorial only to have one "pop up" with two or more last names in the last name box.

Refrain from being concerned with insignificant details that add to my backlog of edits. Some nitpicking edits that I have received just on plot details: use all capital letters (e.g., "Block" to "BLOCK"); abbreviate words (e.g., "Block" to "Blk"); use a dash (punctuation marks) instead of a space; don't use punctuation marks. I cannot please everyone. To each their own. BUSYBODIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO CRITIQUE THEIR OWN MEMORIALS.
