I DO NOT consider memorials I have created as my property. I did not start volunteering with Findagrave just to get on a memorial leaderboard. In the early days, my son and I were surveying a cemetery every few weeks to help researchers and folks who cannot visit cemeteries themselves. If you want a memorial deleted, let me know. I will delete it. If you want a memorial transferred, let me know and I will transfer it.

There are so many old cemeteries in this part of NC so we are trying to post as many interments as possible to help all you researchers out. Also, most of the stones they used for markers in the 1800's are not standing up to the elements very well so it's a race against time to get as many pictures as possible. If you are looking for more NC relatives, I am working with the team of volunteers at cemeterycensus.com. They have surveyed and taken pictures of a ton of cemeteries in central NC. Many of the older photo requests are unfulfilled because the stone no longer remains or is illegible. That's why it's so important to document as many as possible while we can.

One of the most popular questions I get emailed is asking permission to use "my" photos. The short answer is yes, you can use any pictures I have taken. I don't require references or accreditation because that's not why I joined the website and volunteer to take photos. I don't consider them my property.
