WHEN YOU'RE GONE

The world was here many a year before your great arrival; when you leave, though it may grieve there's chance for its survival. It never knew when you were due, inquired not of your coming, but went its way to work & play & keep its wheels a-humming.

Yet some folks think the world will blink and go to wreck and blazes when such as they are called away to sleep beneath the daisies; upon their backs they pile big stacks of grief, care & worry, & think that all will stall unless they fuss & hurry.

Let's do our best with zeal and zest to lighten care and sorrow; but let's not wail each time we about fail nor weep tomorrow; let's do our part with hand and heart to make life better, brighter: but let's not nag and chew the rag each time we spot a blighter.
