In the year of 1834 I attended in Lawrence county Indiana, 542 cases of fever, among them I lost two patients, both with a pulmonalitis it terminated; one was the wife of Gabriel Ragsdale and the other the wife of Adam Berry.

BETHEL CEMETERY

Bethel Cemetery was destroyed in 2018. The bodies and stones have been removed by FedEx so they could expand. At some point, FedEx will leave that area, but the cemetery will still be destroyed.

Bethel is an old cemetery started in 1838. Companies come and go, but once you destroy history, it is gone forever.

DOCUMENTING GRAVE LOCATIONS WITH LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE

To add latitude and longitude for a FindAGrave memorial, click on Edit Plot.

If you place the latitude and longitude in the URL of a browser, the browser will take you to that location. For example, copy and paste the following into the URL of a browser (include the comma and the space: 38.7338, -86.48588

If you download Google Earth (it is free software) and enter the latitude and longitude (for example, 38.7338, -86.48588) in the search box, it will take you to the grave area.

I use Google Earth Pro to find the latitude and longitude. I enter the latitude and longitude for the graveyard, then adjust the numbers until the pointer is over the gravestone.

- Do not automatically tilt while zooming

If you leave a space before the values, an error message, "values are not the correct format", will be returned.

Be sure to include the dash "-" for the longitude, otherwise the person will be buried in China.
