I have been doing genealogy for over 50 years. I started adding cemetery work to my research about 30 years ago. My primary focus was Whipple, Beaman, Clement, Garland in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and Huckins, Bridges, and many of the other early Washington County Maine families.

This has been quite a journey of discovery. To me these are not just names in a database nor stones in a cemetery, it is a story, their story. It is the discovery that we do not invent ourselves, we are the continuum of the story. This is why I try to add a bio, connect relationship links and add photos where I can. Although I appreciate the time and effort for someone to walk through a cemetery and take and post photos of many stones, it is much more meaningful for me to try and find out who these people were so that they may be connected to their relatives and to their part in the story.

I have taken over memorials for friends who no longer can contribute and I am slowing adding info for those memorials. If you are looking for information I have generally added everything I have found.

I am happy to transfer under the guidelines or if there is a compelling reason beyond those limitation. If you are related and I am not, I will transfer no matter how distant your relationship. If you need to contact me I have removed my email from public view, just leave me a "suggest other" on any of my memorials.

UPDATE: In keeping with the 2021 FindaGrave guidelines I will no longer be adding names of possible living relatives or identifying locations from obits. As I come across my previously added memorials I will be deleting such info. In most cases, a search of Newspapers.com or a google name plus obit search can come up with the full obit for those wanting more detailed information.

I also do not add memorials for persons newly departed in the current year in keeping with the new guidelines. Actually I never have added memorials of newly departed within the past few years for unrelated people out of respect for the families. I find there are still lots of older yet unmemorialized deaths and burials to keep me busy.

Please do not ask to link to burial unknowns unless you have a compelling reason. I have found that many burial unknowns can be found with a little research. If you are willing to do the work, then I am happy to link.

If you are a relative and find something I have left in the bio section which you wish removed, please send an "other suggestion".

Relative or not, please do not send edits to add gruesome death details other unpleasant details of a life. Also it is not necessary to send edits to add links to familysearch records as that is where I generally got my information and anyone can look it up. If there is something you feel is incorrectly recorded in FamilySearch then I can add a note of same.

Lastly, I have in the past done extensive research on my memorials and continue to do so, however lately I am finding "grabbers" who take over memorials but do not care to do research. Many memorials were never linked in the first place even though obvious when they shared a stone or the stone indicated the parent's names. I no longer have the time to leave edits for links for these managers who don't care to take the time themselves. I will leave the memorial numbers or hyperlinks for children, parents etc. in the bios of my memorials and you can easily look them up.

I have met some wonderful people through FindaGrave, helpful and great to work with. We are all volunteers and most will respond kindly when treated with respect.
