I'm very passionate about my family, cemeteries and preserving history. I got into Find a Grave when I was researching my genealogy. Since then, I have made it my mission to document and photograph graves not only in my area but around the country. It's not just a hobby, but a passion. In 2022, I started to clean and restore veteran headstones, inspired by "The Good Cemeterian" out of Florida—hence my namesake. I was fortunate enough to be featured on the news not only in Iowa but around the entire country for my efforts. If I'm not related and you ask for a transfer of a memorial because you are related in some way, then I will transfer. I have had my own experiences with members refusing to transfer any memorials, even if I am related. I feel this totally demeans the site, as you are refusing to let family members take part in their ancestors' memorial pages and not helping others which this site is all about. I feel this website is for sharing and caring, not hoarding and holding. I am also a pretty relaxed person, and I will accept edits most of the time without verifying the information, entrusting you did your own research. If you are going to be rude over messages or wherever, then I won't respond or fulfill your edits. If something doesn't go your way, you don't have to be mean about it.

I will typically walk the rows of a cemetery and take pictures of every single headstone in that row, unless I know only certain ones need it. When adding a memorial, I try to add as much information that I have. I don't understand people who add memorials and don't link spouses or children together if they know they are related. If you know additional information, ADD IT! It saves legwork for the people in the future trying to add information to the memorial.

After living in Iowa for my whole life, I recently relocated to the Twin Cities area. I'm looking forward to the Find a Grave adventures ahead!
