I've been doing family research for twenty plus years and it is still a favorite past-time.

• The Find-a-Grave Guide for transfers of family members to relatives which is: "Memorials are transferred for relatives with these close relationships: child, spouse/partner, sibling, parent, grandchild, great-grandchild, grandparent, great-grandparent, niece/nephew, great-niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, great-aunt/uncle, or first cousin. This would include adoptive, step and in-law versions of these relationships." If two members are related within these guidelines and both would like to manage the memorial, the member with the closer relationship should be given management.

 I don't make the rules, but try to follow them. PLEASE send a separate message for each requested transfer and LIST your EXACT relationship!

Obituaries and other death records are welcome as they often give so much additional research information for others to find family! State Death Certificates are public information after a given time, especially if one finds them on the internet. How does one do Family Research without records??

Please use the edit system for edits of names, dates, places, and parents, as anything else may take a lot longer. Please only use the message system for obituaries or other historical information and facts.

I do not post copied census records, death records, or birth records as that is not what Find A Grave memorials were intended!

Find A Grave has become a useful research tool, but has also been abused a bit. Please do not connect any of my memorials to those that are labeled "burial unknown". To many folks have gone out there and built hundreds and even thousands of memorials with "burial unknown" from someone's family tree or a history book!

When requesting a family member transfer please state your actual relationship to the person you are requesting to be transferred and make sure they meet the Find-A-Grave guidelines. The demands to transfer "my family member" with no further explanation will continue to be ignored. PLEASE do not send multiple requests for the same person in a 30 day period as that will only add to the emails I receive daily with Find-A-Grave requests and add to the response time. I try to do requests on the weekends and evenings, but I do have a life too!

DO NOT send me links without the correct coding to be allowed them to be used as link within the memorial.
