I can't believe August is just about gone. I feel like I have barely made a dent in rephotographing Mountain View Cemetery. I have added some photos to memorials that already have a photo, not because it is better just because it may have a better angle or no shadow.

I do want to put this out there, I love working in Find a Grave. It brings great joy to me to memorialize someone. I especially get "heart Happy" when I am able to connect a baby that has been "forgotten" to their family. I was able to do that just in the past couple of days. I think about the joy someone gets when they " find" a new family member. I know, it's silly.

I have also been working with the Mountain View Burial Book as well as the directory to make sure people are in their correct place of rest. One of the directory cards just had a name no dates only a name and plot. I searched that name and found he was a little guy that passed away in pavilion. He wasn't even mentioned in future obits. But now he is not forgotten and connected to his family

Short rambling....

This is a new one for me. I got a message that stated only " remove the photo' No name of the person or memorial ID number. I had someone want me to ask permission to add a headstone photo. Isn't that what find a grave is about. Can you imagine if we had to ask permission for every headstone photo we took.

I was called ghoulish because I asked nicely for a reason why they wanted it removed and they wanted me to ask permission and that "he" made it perfectly clear that's what he wanted ?? no clue. Please be kind people we do not own memorials. There are other family members out there. Please be nice to each other. There is no reason to be mean and hateful we are honoring people

I have been re photographing Mountain View Cemetery, and I have added some duplicate photos that turned out better than the first.

I have also been recording the Mountain View Burial Book. It has added several new memorials to the cemetery.

I have worked through the past few years such as 2024, 2023, 2022, etc. I don't have access to the 2026 as it will not be available until 2027 and then I will double check it against the memorials. I will double check against index cards for all I can in 2026 burials

Man, time is flying by.

I have been working on the funeral records from Davis Funeral Home and it has been "causing" a lot of edits/suggestions. Please be patient and remember if you manage a memorial you will receive edit requests.

I have been trying to redo the sections at Mountain View Cemetery but it is slow going this time. I'm not sure why it is unless my mind is saying " hey you did this section".

Happy February

Wyoming has had the craziest winter. It is 40 degrees and dry. We have been able to still photograph. My main focus right now is the family cemeteries. I created a group page on facebook that I add a lot of the photos to. We called it Sagebrush Spirits.

summer is just around the corner and Lilly and I are excited to get back to cleaning.

there is exciting news coming for Arapahoe Catholic Cemetery. We spent a couple hours there the first of January and filled the entire back of a truck. It is looking so good.

January 16th, 2026

it has been an interesting winter here so far. The grass and sagebrush is not bright and green but it's not covered with snow. We are still able to get out and photograph. I don't much like to just because the markers and graves look so sad. We have been working on clean up of the Arapahoe Catholic Cemetery at Arapahoe/St. Stephens Wyoming.

It is looking nice. It would be so beautiful to have it covered with grass but I don't see that happening and maybe it shouldn't. We found a few of the markers that have been requested. I also "stumbled" on a marker I had never seen and I have walked that cemetery so many times. It is literally cement that has been spread on the ground on top of a grave with the name and RIP It has been covered with "junk" for years.

I did find out some interesting information on the cemetery. I was told that the actual first cemetery is up on a hill behind the mission building. Needless to say we will be hunting for it. I was told it still has markers.

In 1926 a fire came through Arapahoe Catholic Cemetery and burned so many markers as well a burning down the mission building

Chief LoneBear's marker was found and there is exciting news coming in the future regarding that. Amazing what a weed eater and a little raking can uncover.

January 6th, 2026

I was thinking how it makes me so happy to come upon a memorial and research and connect family add as much as I can and then get the acceptance email back, go look at that person's memorial and see that they are "alive" again.

I love going down rabbit holes, climbing through windows, and going into the back doors to find family connections.

I just wanted to put this at the top again. I leave a flower on every memorial I open. Most people are not family to me. Just my way of honoring them. I also send in photo requests. If you are reading this please, when you go to the cemetery to fill a photo request photograph more than just the person . Maybe just the people around the person that you were looking for or the row that they are laid to rest in so that we can get our cemeteries photographed.

There's so many out there that are not being photographed and to me if you're gonna take the time to go out and do one picture maybe just do that whole row that they're buried in it would greatly be appreciated by a lot of family.

December 29th, 2025

OH, MY GOODNESS 2026 is only 3 days away. It has been chilly here, but I have still been able to get out. I was able to do alot more at Arapahoe Catholic Cemetery. The cemetery has been mowed, and it has made all the difference. As many times as I have walked it I found and was able to honor a couple more people. One was Louis Spoonhunter. His resting place was covered over with a "slab" of cement. I had been completely covered over for years, and it was unearthed.

I am excited for the new year and all it will bring. I am so blessed to be able to go out and photograph resting places

December 13, 2025 I just wanted to add this up here again, first happy December almost happy 2026, but I wanted to add I declined four edits this morning that came wanting to take away the bio section the mother, the father where he was born, just basically erased everything except for his name and his birth and death date and I declined them all because there was absolutely no reason given or no information shared on why and when I went to send a message to the individual who requested the edits their messages were turned off . I know that I've noted somewhere down in here in my bio section of my profile why, why do you have your messages turned off? I understand that people send out ugly messages, but find a grave has been doing a great job supporting us with those. Please turn your messages on on your bio section so that we can reach out and talk to each other and be a team like we are supposed to be

October is almost gone. I just want to thank everyone who helps me maintain the most honorable and correct memorials for our loved ones.

I have gotten behind on sending out thank you notes for filling photo requests. Please know that I appreciate it very much. Most of the requests I send are not family some are for more information or just to get the photo added. My hope would be that when someone goes out that they would do more than just the request so we can document more cemeteries.

July is right around the corner. I am super excited the sun and blues sky's make for beautiful pictures of final resting places .

i was thinking of this the other day, when i see that a memorial has information in the bio section and then click and find it is only something like "w/o so and so " or the burial date is in the bio section instead of the gravesite details I get so frustrated and I am sure others do as well. If I could ask that people please only add Information to the bio section. "w/o" is good only if the other person is not attached otherwise it is just double data and gets people's hopes up .

June is almost over. It's been crazy here. I have enjoyed getting out. There is so much more to do. I will be going out soon to do more photographs

Welp, Tomorrow is June 1st, 2025. It has been nice getting out and photographing.

I have assumed quite a few memorials that were managed by Find a Grave when I went to send in the suggestions/edits or connect family, and it was just easier to "take them over". I have added as much as I can on the memorials I have acquired. One thing I don't understand is why people don't add info to the memorials they are responsible for.

It is nice, however that they took the time to create the memorial.

I can't wait for those 80 & 90 degree days to get out there in the sunshine and document and honor the people who have gone before us.

I just have to add this question.

Why have your ID name as "Anonymous" or your messages turned off ?

a couple of years ago I received horrible message and not once did I turn the messages off. It makes it very hard to work as a team when you can't communicate with part of that team.

I still hesitate when I receive messages so I understand, that being said not everyone is mean and hateful. Some of us simply want to thank you or ask a question. I tried to send a thank you today for a request fulfilled and couldn't

I hope everyone is having a great March. We got another little bit of snow so that going to put walking cemeteries back a bit.

oh if you do receive "ugly" emails screenshot then and send them to find a grave support. They move a little slow but they will take care of it

It is almost time to get back out there and start hunting and searching.

It been a long winter, not as long as some but still long. I am so excited for green grass and green, well grey sage brush. Not so excited for those pesky snakes tho

There have been several memorials that find a grave has managed for whatever reason that I have " taken" when I have gone to send in an edit or suggestion. I try to remember to put at the top that I am not family and would live to transfer them. If you come across one and would like to manage it PLEASE send a transfer request. Memorials should be with family or even friends as far as I am concerned so that they are "taken care of ". When I have them I try and add as much as I can to the bio section. I don't care about numbers.

History should never be destroyed, deleted or denied.

Please Be Nice!! If you manage memorials, know that you are going to receive edits/suggestions.

Happy New Year everyone. I just want to say I am so thankful for everyone who helps on Find a Grave. It truly is a wonderful feeling when you can find information about a relative because of the work someone has done on this site.

Summer is coming and I cannot wait to get back out there and get more photographs.

Thanks to everyone who helps me by sending in edits/suggestions. It is my goals to have someone open up a family member's memorial and find information they didn't have before. I try very hard to update and research the memorials I have. If by some chance a memorial belongs to your family, PLEASE let me transfer it to you. I have adopted a few that were managed by Find a Grave for whatever reason, and I want them to be with someone who will manage them and make sure they are as correct as possible. I would much rather have a few memorials to manage than a lot.

5/11/2024 I just want to restate the above.

I was working on a family last night and all but two of them were buried in a cemetery in Franklin Texas. All of the memorials were created by the same person. I just want to say "Thank you" for documenting the cemetery and please understand when all the suggestions and edits come in.

***I have been working on old records from the funeral homes here & I attach them to the memorial if there are any questions about the edit/suggestions I have sent. Please know I research & search until I know that I have not made a mistake. That being said I do & I have made mistakes. Please be kind as I would NEVER send a suggestion or edit Willy Nilly.

***I have not cropped the photos I have added as I do not have the time. The information is the purpose of adding them. If you want to add the photo, please know that you will have to save it and then crop it. If you do not know how or are unable to, please let me know & I will "fix" it for you.

***I have "inherited " a few memorials when connecting family. Please ask & I will transfer them to you if you would like.

I would like you to know, if I have a memorial that you would like to manage please send me a note. I know there are rules however I feel memorials should be with their loved ones. (Family or not)

I love that I can pay it forward to future generations and strangers. I find cemeteries places of serenity, they bring me peace. I try & create the most honorable memorials I can. I know that FaG is for headstones and grave location, however it is, I feel used so much more for genealogy and information. I feel no one should be forgotten (God knows where they are) but people should be honored & have a memorial on find a grave. I have been working on a couple of cemeteries here & I have added over a hundred names to long forgotten graves. there is no way to know who each grave belongs to on most of them but their names are written down now & they are honored in that way. I manage several memorials that are people I love that are "family" Know that I would never purposely make a memorial to cause a loved one pain or hurt. If I have made a memorial that is a family member or someone you love please send me a message. I will transfer it to you. I try to go back through the memorials I have & add information from my ancestry account. Life has been pretty crazy lately and I haven't had the time to do that for the loved ones memorials. I also want to add here that I appreciate all the information sent to me and if I don't get a "thank you"sent back to you please know that I do thank you so much for helping make the most honorable memorials.
