Every memorial represents a life that mattered

I've accepted the care of several memorials for individuals who are not part of my own family line. If you come across a memorial that belongs in your family within these entrusted memorials I warmly welcome you to request a transfer—regardless of whether it falls outside the usual Find A Grave guidelines. It's an honor to be a caretaker of these stories until they find their way home.

I find great fulfillment in researching my family history through cemeteries & headstones, especially in discovering connections between different family lines. Verifying information through headstones is important as it helps honor my ancestors and fosters a deep sense of connection with both those I knew and those I've only heard about.

Above all, I truly love helping others. That's why this platform means so much to me. We all come to Find-A-Grave with a common purpose—to feel closer to the people we've lost, to learn more about our roots, or to honor those who came before us. When we can't be there in person to visit a loved one's final resting place, it's the kindness of volunteers—taking the time to walk through cemeteries, carefully record names and dates, and share them here—that makes all the difference.

I live in a state where distance makes it hard to visit the graves of those who shaped my story. Thanks to selfless volunteers, I've been able to find family I thought were lost to time. I hope to give back in the same way
