My name is Lyn and I have been researching the extended, convoluted, intertwined branches of my Australian tree for over 30 years now. I live at Denhams Beach, NSW, semi-retired and married with a wonderful grown-up daughter, some grandchildren and a loving husband, who reckons "You spend more time with dead people".

I am a member of Society of Australian Genealogists (SAG), ACT Family History (previously HAGSOC), Camden Area Family History Society, Orange Family History Society, South Australia Family History Society, Moruya Family History Society and have a Diploma of Family History (UTAS). I am also a Beta Tester for Family Tree Maker software.

I will not transfer family members or close friends. However, should you want a transfer, please explain your relationship, as all requests will be considered individually. I will not accept any suggestions or requests for transfer if you are anonymous.

If you ask me to include information on a memorial, please explain your sources. Having spent many hours trying to correct errors on my own family members, I'd prefer not to be the one who spreads misinformation on anyone else's family members.

Do not post pirated photos or newspaper articles to memorials that I manage. If you didn't take the photo or inherit the copyright from someone, modern photos are protected. This is not a game for me and I am not here to "rack up the numbers". If you think I have a lot, think again.

The mission of Find A Grave is "to find, record and present final disposition information as a virtual cemetery experience." It's not about adding census records, marriage records, military records, obituaries or how many newspaper clippings you can add. My focus at FAG is memorialising our ancestors life with preference to an originally written biography.

Plot v Grave: While the term plot refers to the land itself, once a body is buried within that plot, it becomes a grave. And for those who like to use the totally nonsensical abbreviations from Cemetery databases such as CLC-MON-44-807-02.....Forget About It! No-one is going to find a grave when it is listed with so much mumbo jumbo. Send it as it should be: Monumental Section: 44, Row: 807, Grave Number: 2

And, last but NOT least, don't cry or complain on my wall, please. That's what my email is for, besides it is rude to leave ugly messages. I'd prefer to discuss an issue rather than try to communicate via wall postings....ugly will result in no communication whatsoever and get neither of us anywhere...Life is short, be nice, play kind, and don't sweat the small stuff...
